Insurance products from M&S gain top scores

A number of different insurance products on offer from Marks & Spencer (M&S) have been awarded five star ratings by one financial services benchmarking company.

Some 97 per cent of products across the financial services market are rated by Defaqto and the firm has awarded a range of products from the M&S its top score of five stars.

Car, travel, home and pet insurance products have all be granted a five star rating by the company due to the level of cover they provide.

"This rating is a great indication of the standard of insurance available from M&S Money. We are proud of the policies we have put together in conjunction with our insurance partners" said Brendan Cook, chief executive of M&S Money.

He added the firm believes the products are some of the best available in the current market.

Pet insurance policies from M&S include up to Ł7,000 of cover each year for illness and injury as well as discounts for insuring more than one pet.

Earlier this month, research from Sainsbury's Bank suggested that some one million people believe their pet cats or dogs have been stolen in the last five years.
